Dr Gill Fargher


Interests

Gill has lived and worked in Kent for over 40 years. A doctor by background, she was a GP and partner in her practice in Rochester for 32 years, retiring in 2019. Gill always held other roles alongside general practice. She has been a police surgeon, an instructor in reproductive health, worked in HIV medicine and palliative care as well as safeguarding. For the last 10 years of her career she worked in health commissioning holding a number of board level roles.

Useful Information

After retirement (and a subsequent return to work to support the Covid response) she concentrated on developing a number of voluntary roles. Gill has worked in organ and tissue donation since 2016 following the death of her husband Tristan who became a donor. She currently holds local and regional chair roles for NHS Medway Foundation Trust and NHS Blood and Transplant respectively. Gill is a trustee for The French Hospital and Age UK Kent Rivers. She is a member of the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisory Panel for the Diocese of Rochester and chair of the Safeguarding Committee for Rochester Cathedral.
