Carol Ford

Interests

Carol Ford is a passionate advocate for food, farming and the rural economy in Kent and Medway. Through Ford Synthesis Ltd, which she has led since July 2021, she works as a business adviser and sector specialist, bringing together businesses, public bodies and education partners to strengthen the sector's voice and turn shared ambitions into practical collaboration.

As Food and Farming Sector Lead for Kent and Medway and Executive Chair of Produced in Kent, Carol champions local growers, producers and food businesses. Her interests include stronger local supply chains, sustainable growth and the skills businesses need for the future. She is particularly committed to helping young people see the opportunities in agriculture, horticulture and food, and to building closer connections between employers and education.

Her wider contribution spans economic development, employment, skills and place. She serves on the Medway Place Board and is Manager and Director of We Are Medway CIC, the organisation behind Medway Champions. In that role she brings businesses, charities, education, health, local government and communities together to share Medway's story, build relationships and create opportunities for collaboration.

Carol's approach is rooted in curiosity about people and businesses, a willingness to open doors and a belief that progress comes from working together. As a Kent Ambassador, she brings that same commitment to championing the county's food and farming strengths and connecting people who can help Kent and Medway thrive.
